Contact Lens

RGP: Lenses are semi-rigid and often constructed of fluorosilicone and acrylate, a plastic that allows oxygen to reach the eye. They are the best in terms of clinical outcomes because their smaller size allows more oxygen to enter the cornea. They provide good eyesight clarity, are long-lasting, and are simple to maintain. For all age groups, they can be prescribed for therapeutic, aesthetic, post-surgery (RK, PRK, & LASIK), high astigmatism, bifocals, and other sorts of vision correction. These lenses may also be recommended in some circumstances to correct myopia.

Soft lenses: Soft lenses are flexible and membrane-like for maximum comfort because they are constructed of polymers that absorb water. They are perfect for sports because they are difficult to remove off the eye

New silicon-based soft lenses provide the cornea with the maximum amount of oxygen, allowing overnight continuous wear without risk for a month. Soft lenses can be created to correct a wide range of refractive problems and lifestyles thanks to modern manufacturing techniques. Soft lenses can be purchased in toric (to correct astigmatism), bifocal, weekly, monthly, daily, extended wear, cosmetic (to cover corneal scarring), and to change the colour of one's eyes for style.

Regardless of the type, all lenses build up deposits from the environment and the eye's secretions. When removed from the eye, all soft lenses get contaminated within 24 hours because the material contains water. Because of this, contact lens care is crucial.
